Hey NG, long time no post
Wanted to make a quick update regarding the latest cartoon I did for NG's Musk Jam, which you can find here:
I'm hoping to be more active in the future, but I should probably make shorter cartoons so I don't have to take as many animation shortcuts to get them out in a timely manner. It's the real artist's struggle, lemme tell you. Especially coming from an amateur like me that's still trying to find my proper visual footing. But it is what it is.
HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY

Fellow amateur here. I wouldn't stress the "animation shortcuts" too much. Tell the story you want to tell in the most effective way you can. People watch for the story, for the laughs, as well as the animation.
If you enjoy making a highly polished animation, exercising your talents, go for it - just don't let the stigma of "shortcuts" or efficiency hold you back from making something.
Great job on the toon!

Yeah, it's not necessarily that I think taking shortcuts is an inherently bad thing. I just wish that I had the time (and general capability) to put into these projects so they can turn out how I imagine them in my head. But I think it's safe to say every artist experiences that with most things they make in the first place.
Appreciate the response.
